JD Power Survey 2010
It's one thing to take a couple of cars for a spin around the block to see if you really like them, but wouldn't you like to know how your next car is going to stand the test of time?
That's where the 300 million-mile test drive that is the What Car?/JD Power Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Survey comes in, because they delve into the experiences of more than 17,200 motorists who have travelled an average of 17,386 miles in their cars.

The questions they ask owners are as diverse as: has the engine given up? Is the suspension strong enough? Does it cope with three kids, buggies and bikes? Is it fun?
In all, 104 models from 27 manufacturers are rated this year, with every aspect of owning them open to scrutiny. So how did Toyota do in the survey?
Toyota maintains its 5th place manufacturer ranking, with 814 points from a possible 1,000 – an increase of 9 points since 2009.
We are pleased to confirm that AYGO is the highest ranked model in the City Car category, achieving a score of 807 points, while Yaris achieves the joint highest score in the Small Car category with 831 points.
In the upper medium category, Prius ranks 2nd (834 points) and Avensis ranks 4th (806 points)
RAV4 and Verso are ranked 3rd in the SUV and MPV categories, with scores of 823 and 807 respectively.
Auris achieves a score of 792, which is in line with the segment average. However, we are convinced the product enhancements introduced to the Auris range in 2010 will ensure an even greater position in future.
