3 beautiful places in North Wales you didn't know existed

North Wales, home to rugged terrain with cascading waterfalls and picturesque beaches - the perfect place to explore with your family - mainly as most of it is free!

Lindop Toyota is based in North Wales with branches in Queensferry and Wrexham - so here at the office, we’ve put our heads together and come up with some of our favourite off-the-beaten-path locations to share with you so you too can explore and take in the sights of North Wales.

Have you got a beautiful place to add? Tag us in your favourite North Wales photographs on our Facebook page.

The Stacks at Trefor

Standing proudly in the Irish Sea these stacks are visible from the clifftops and make for a fantastic photo opportunity. The Stacks sit on the beach in Trefor, which is a small village on the north coast of Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd.

Take a beautiful walk along the clifftops and watch as the sun sets behind the stacks. With the waves in the distance, this is a peaceful place.

Panoramic view of South Stack Lighthouse

Although there is nothing hidden about the South Stack Lighthouse - the path that runs along the top of the cliff gives walkers a spectacular view across the turquoise waters surrounding the small island and is lesser travelled.

South Stack is located on Holy Island, which is an island off the western side of the Anglesey. To see this view for yourself, drive along the S Stack Road until you reach Holyhead Lighthouse Parking. Then, on foot, climb the path taking you up above the lighthouse to the north-west of Holy Island.

Hidden lakes in Snowdonia National Park

Snowdonia is the largest National Park in Wales and is not only known for its jagged mountainous scenery, but it’s also home to over 100 lakes. Lake Vyrnwy, pictured below, is the third-largest lake within Snowdonia National Park.

This lake is home to a reservoir with a 12-mile road at its parameter, so you’re able to take the sights in by car or bike, with bike hire available. Cycle to the neo-Gothic water tower or over the top of the dam - with the rushing water to one side and the vast expanse of the reservoir on other.
